The Coach 

Joyce Baker is a business and executive coach for a wide range   of business enterprises, from executives in large organizations   to the entrepreneurial business.   Drawing from the fields of personal development,  organization development, business success principles and applied psychology, she brings a broad-based holistic approach  to working with clients.    

Joyce has been an executive coach with the Ken Blanchard Companies since 2001 as well as having her own coaching business since 1998.   

With regard to her professional background, she has more than 18 years in corporate IT, in a variety of roles, including software engineering, project management, leadership, and consulting. Joyce's experience in IT Project Management has led to project success in a range of industry areas, working with large corporations such as Bank of America, Sears, and Sprint, as well as with small, entrepreneurial firms. In parallel, she was continuously pursuing a passion for personal development. She became specifically interested in career-related issues after a successful corporate career transitioned into a yearning to explore "what's next for me? How can I leverage my business experience and also experience more personal fulfillment?" Early in this process, Joyce discovered coaching as a vehicle to bring the pieces together, first for herself, and then for others. Her theme of personal development translated into comprehensive study and work in the career development arena as well as intensive studies in business and leadership principles.

Consequently, in 1998 Joyce opened her private coaching practice. Her coaching expertise has been developed through corporate and private practice, over 500 hours of rigorous formal coaches' training, including studies leading to certifications in a variety of instrumented assessments, and her life-long learning and application of personal development principles. Joyce has her Professional Certified Coach credential through the International Coaches Federation (ICF) and her Certified Business Coach credential through the International Consortium of Business Coaches (I-CBC).

In addition to working with executives, teams and entrepreneurs, Joyce is also a mentor coach.  She has provided such services to B/Coach, Career Coach Institute, Blanchard clients and private clients.  It is one of her greatest joys to work with developing the skills and abilities of other coaches and in that way increasing the impact coaching has in the world.

Joyce has a B.A. in Business Adminstration from the California State University at Fullerton.
